• “UPI P2P accounted for 49 per cent in volume and 67 per cent in value but in terms of merchants’ transactions, UPI P2M emerged as the preferred payment mode with a market share of 34 per cent in volume and 17 per cent in terms of value,” said Worldline’s ‘India Digital Payments Report’.
• Payments through credit and debit cards accounted for 8 per cent in volume and 14 per cent in value.
• In Q2 2022, UPI clocked over 17.4 billion transactions in volume and Rs 30.4 trillion in terms of value.
• Transactions volume and value have seen an increase about 118 per cent increase in volume and over 98 per cent increase in value in Q2 2022 as compared to Q2 2021.
• UPI now has 346 partner banks as a part of the ecosystem.
• It is now accepted in countries like the UAE, Singapore, France and Bhutan.
• As of June 2022, the total number of POS terminals deployed by merchant acquiring banks was 6.59 million; it increased by 43 per cent growth in Q2 2022 compared to Q2 2021.
• The total number of credit and debit cards in circulation by the end of Q2 2022 was 1 billion.
• In Q2 2022, credit cards volume and value stood at 688.65 million and Rs 3.28 trillion respectively.

• With the signing of this LOC agreement, Exim Bank has now 311 lines of credit covering 67 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America Oceania and the CIS, with credit commitments of around USD 32.31 billion.

• Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Rs 26,000 crore has been approved by the government to install new 25,000 telecom towers in the next 500 days.
• He said the measure was being taken as connectivity was vital for Digital India and its reach to every corner of the country, during the three-day Digital India Conference of State IT Ministers which concluded, according to an official statement of the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY).
• The minister also congratulated all states and Union Territories (UTs) for their speedy on-boarding at PM Gati Shakti.
• Emphasising the motto of SabkaSaath and Sabka Vikas, he stated that the commitments from all states and UTs, large as well as small states, are vital in taking Digital India to higher level and in realising the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and trillion-dollar Digital Economy.
• MeitY had organised on Sunday three sessions on important aspects such as ‘IT Rules, online gaming and data governance’, ‘Digital India Bhashini and digital payment’, and ‘MyScheme and Meri Pehchaan’.
• The demo on eligibility/profile-based service discovery at MyScheme was shown.
• The Ministry organisedfive panel discussions.

• The Upgradation of Plots, Roads and Storm Water Drains in another 40 Hectare Area inside Cargo Jetty Area with Project Cost of Rs. 47 Crore will increase the handling & storage capacity inside Custom Bonded Area and help in boosting Import / Export of Dry Cargo with capacity of 8.8 lakhs MT.
• The project of Upgradation of Tuna Road from Two Lane to Four Lane with Project Cost of Rs. 87.32 Crore will result into faster Cargo evacuation, looking to the increase in Traffic handling at Port and accommodate future Port Traffic seamlessly.
• It will provide much desired connectivity to the Port from the National Highway and provide a face–lift to the approach roads to the Port in line with Gati Shakti.
• The project will also benefit the proposed Jetties to be developed by the DPA on PPP.

• The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Medical Device Park at Nalagarh, which will be built at a cost of about 350 crore rupees.
• He will also inaugurate the Government Hydro Engineering College at Bandla.
• During the visit, the Prime Minister will participate in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
• The festival is unique in the sense that it is the congregation of more than 300 Deities of the Valley.
• It will be the first time ever that the Prime Minister of the country is participating in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
