- Besides monitoring of dhows, island security and community interaction programmes have been institutionalised under the coastal security construct.
- The day-long drill is conducted every month and the outcomes are further progressed for improvement in the coastal security construct.
- The drill enables to verify implementation of various coastal security measures besides bringing out important lessons and highlight trends in coastal security.

- The event brought together 25 participants from Animal Husbandry, Human Health, and Wildlife sectors representing six Indian states, namely Kerala, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana.
- In addition to these, 13 experts from ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (NIVEDI), and the Centre for Wildlife IVRI participated, with observers from WHO, FAO, USAID Rise, and the One Health Support Unit (OHSU).
- The workshop focused on four key objectives on enhancing stakeholder knowledge about wildlife-origin disease risk analysis, conducting a thorough gap analysis of India’s risk assessment and management, simulating disease spillover scenarios, and fostering communication and awareness among relevant stakeholders
- Also, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri ParshottamRupala inaugurated Second Edition of ICAR-CIBA’s (ICAR-Central Institute of Brackish water Aquaculture) Shrimp Farmers Conclave-2023 at the Navsari Agricultural University Campus in Gujarat.
- About 410 aqua farmers across the coastal districts of Gujarat participated in the conclave.
- In his address, Shri ParshottamRupala conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, for approving the Pradhan MantriMatsyaSampadanYojana with the financial outlay of Rs. 20,050 crores for the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture sector.
- This paved the way for developing a project implemented by ICAR-CIBA on “Genetic improvement program of Penaeusindicus (Indian white shrimp)-Phase-I” with an outlay of Rs.25 crores under the Pradhan MantriMatsyaSampadaYojana (PMMSY) to establish a National Genetic Improvement Facility for shrimp breeding.
- The Minister also launched the Shrimp Crop Insurance scheme developed by the Agricultural Insurance Company (AIC) with the support of ICAR-CIBA during the occasion in the presence of the Chairman cum Managing Director of AIC, Smt. Grija Subramanian.
- Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed between CIBA and National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB); CIBA and Fish Farmers Producer Organization (FFPO) of Gujarat respectively for implementing the crop insurance for aquaculture with premium subsidy offered by the NFDB and technology support for the FFPO.
- Shri Rupala also handed over a sum Rs.40.05 Lakhs income earned by the SC, ST and Cage Culture beneficiaries of Navsari region through adoption of CIBA technologies for the livelihood development supported by NGRC-CIBA scientists.

KisanRin Portal (KRP)
- Developed collaboratively by MoA&FW, the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAH&D), Department of Fisheries (DoF), RBI, and NABARD, KRP is poised to revolutionize access to credit services under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC).
- It will also assist farmers in availing subsidized agriculture credit through the Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (MISS).
- The KRP portal serves as an integrated hub, offering a comprehensive view of farmer data, loan disbursement specifics, interest subvention claims, and scheme utilization progress.
- By fostering seamless integration with banks, this pioneering portal enables proactive policy interventions, strategic guidance, and adaptive enhancements for more focused and efficient agriculture credit and optimum utilization of interest subvention.
Ghar-Ghar KCC Abhiyaan: Door to Door KCC Campaign
- The event also marks the commencement of the “GharGhar KCC Abhiyaan,”.MoA&FW’s commitment to universal financial inclusion is underscored by this campaign, ensuring that every farmer has unhindered access to credit facilities that drive their agricultural pursuits. The campaign will begin from 1st October 2023 to 31st December 2023.
- MoA&FW has diligently verified existing KCC account holders’ data against the PM KISAN database, identifying account holders who match with the PM KISAN database and those who, although PM KISAN beneficiaries, do not have KCC accounts.
- This campaign plays a pivotal role in reaching out to non-KCC account holder PM KISAN beneficiaries and fostering the saturation of KCC Accounts among eligible PM Kisan beneficiary farmers.

- The Weather Information Network Data Systems (WINDS) initiative stands as a pioneering effort to establish a network of Automatic Weather Stations & Rain Gauges at the taluk/block and gram panchayat levels.

- Under the partnership, 60,000 youth will be empowered over a period of five years with the objective of improving livelihood of rural households by providing relevant skills training to its youth population.
- Under the collaboration, a customized bus with retrofitted tools will promote the ‘Skill India Mission’ initiative through ‘Skills on Wheels’ and will travel across the length and breadth of aspirational and backward districts.
- The initiative is aimed at spreading awareness at grass root level about free skill training programs enabling youth to profoundly change the trajectory of their lives through robust skill training.
- Aligned with this mission, this partnership with IndusInd Bank is aimed at empowering the youth of the nation through the ‘Skills on Wheels’ project.
- The objective of Skills on Wheels is to enable a large number of youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will improve their theoretical as well as practical knowledge and help them in securing a better livelihood by bringing necessary synergy, oversight, and effective coordination.
- It aims to bridge the gap between the skilled people required in the industry and the unemployed youth by ensuring that the right candidate with a passion for a particular job chooses the right course according to his/her academic background, aptitude, and skill set.

- Around 65 delegates from G20 membersandinvitee countries and international and regional organisations attended the meeting.
- This year, the group successfully delivered two G20 reports,which were referenced in the New Delhi Leaders Declaration: G20 Report on Macroeconomic Impacts of Food and Energy Insecurity and G20 Report on Macroeconomic Risks Stemming from Climate Change and Transition Pathways.
- The Reserve Bank of India also hosted a number of Jan Bhagidari events to make G20 discussions more inclusive and human-centric. This consisted of events aimed at the general public, students, and self-help organisations, includinga series of financial literacy programmes, a G20 awareness programme, a painting contest, a slogan-writing contest, and a quiz competition.
