• DICGC has already paid Rs 496.98 crore of the total insured deposits.
• Regarding ShushrutiSouhardaSahakara Bank Niyamita, RBI said as per the data submitted by the lender, 91.92 per cent of the depositors are entitled to receive full amount of their deposits from DICGC.
• As on May 31, 2023, DICGC has paid Rs 54.16 crore of the total insured deposits

• Vaccine Procurement Cell of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare onboarded domestic vendors of vaccines and invited bids for 780 lakh doses of Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) in April 2022 for use under Universal Immunization Programme in an efficient and transparent manner.
• As part of this effort, Vaccine Procurement Cell of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare onboarded domestic vendors of vaccines and invited bids for 780 lakh doses of Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) in April 2022 for use under Universal Immunization Programme in an efficient and transparent manner.
• The tender was finalised in July 2022 in an efficient and transparent manner and orders placed under for value of approximately Rs 1,544 crore, the release stated, adding that the supplies under the orders are being received as per schedule.

• Europe until recently depended on Ariane 5 and its 11-tonne-plus capacity for heavy missions, as well as Russia’s Soyuz launcher for medium payloads and Italy’s Vega for small ones.
• Heinrich-Hertz is an experimental communications satellite that will test new hardware and serve as a test platform for university and public sector scientific and technical experiments.
• Its mission will be managed by the German space agency, known by the acronym DLR. Heinrich-Hertz is the first German satellite dedicated to such technology demonstration and communications research.
• Syracuse 4B is joining its predecessor, Syracuse 4A, which launched in 2021. The pair were built for the French government by Airbus Defence and Space, and are replacing the Syracuse satellites 3A and 3B as military communication relays.
• Both Heinrich-Hertz and Syracuse 4B are headed for geostationary orbit, which lies about 22,200 miles (35,800 kilometers) above Earth. They’ll get there by performing a series of engine burns.
• The two-stage rocket was operated by Arianespace for ESA and CNES, the French space agency, and was built by Airbus Defence and Space.
• The Ariane 5 has gone through a handful of upgrades and has flown in five different configurations. The most recent versions, the Ariane 5 EC/A and ES, began operation in 2009.
• The predecessor design, the Ariane G5, launched from 2005 to 2009, after succeeding the short-lived G+ version, which launched three missions in 2004, and the premiere Ariane 5 G prior to that.
• Ariane 5 first launched in 1996 but failed to reach orbit on that debut, initiating an auto-destruct abort mid-flight. After that initial failure, the rocket became one of the world’s most reliable launchers. Of Ariane 5’s 117 missions and 239 payloads delivered to orbit, the launch vehicle has performed at a 96% success rate.
• Ariane 6 is a new launcher system, which will be more flexible, cost-efficient and serve more types of launches compared to Ariane 5.

• The MoU aims at strengthening the partnership between the two countries through various forms of cooperation between both countries’ Public Service officers.

• The scheme has been introduced as more women are working in different shifts and, at times, get dropped at a place by the office vehicle from where they have to walk alone to their home.
• Earlier, the police had asked people to use the ‘Kaavalan’ SOS mobile application.
• In October last year, the Coimbatore police launched ‘Police Akka’, an ambitious project aimed at preventing crimes against girl students.

• This study assesses States, Union Territories (UTs), and focus Central Ministries on the effectiveness of e-Governance service delivery.
• NeSDA helps the respective governments improve their delivery of citizen centric services and shares best practices across the country for all States, UTs and Central Ministries to emulate.
• The Department has successfully released 2 editions of NeSDA study, viz., NeSDA 2019 and NeSDA 2021.
• Both the studies have shown a significant rise of e-services across all States/UTs. It has also shown a rising trend of e-Services delivery shifting from single silo departmental portals to integrated / centralized portals.
• Improvement in the country’s e-Governance landscape due to last 2 editions of NESDA study may be summarized in the following key takeaways –
  • Increase in e-Service Delivery
  • Rise in use of Integrated / Centralized Portals for delivery of e-Services
  • Improvement across assessment parameter scores
• In NeSDA 2021, 1400 services across all States and UTs were assessed as compared to 872 in 2019, an increase of over 60%.
• 74% respondents of the nation-wide citizen survey conducted during the study had stated that they are satisfied with the e-Services provided by the States and UTs.
• The e-Services of Finance and Local Governance & Utility Services sectors were the most widely used by citizens.
• Now, with the launch of NeSDA 2023 portal, DARPG has embarked on the journey of third edition of the study- NeSDA 2023.
• NeSDA 2023 framework has been revised in-line with the contemporary citizens need, leading global digital government trends and UN e-Government Survey studies.
• Additions in the NeSDA 2023 framework are proposed under following dimensions:

• Under Mo Jungle Jami Yojana scheme, Forest Rights Cells will be constituted at the tahsil and district level with professional human resources to ensure and assist in the effective implementation of FRA, 2006.
• The project would speed-up the post-rights recognition activities within a prescribed timeframe.
• The total cost of the scheme is Rs 38.76 crore which includes establishment of a state programme management unit (SPMU) at Tribal Research Institute, Bhubaneswar, awareness campaigns, functioning of forest rights cells in all districts and training of various officials, field functionaries of relevant government departments and Gram Sabha members.
• As per the tribal profile of Odisha, the State is home to 62 types of tribes including 13 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The 2011 census says the State is ranked third in terms of tribal population nationally.
• The implementation of the scheme will provide ownership of land and access to forest resources to the beneficiaries according to their entitlement and join them with mainstream development programmes of the government.

• The Centre had in Budget 2022 announced the National Tele Mental Health Programme of India, Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele-MANAS).
• Tele-MANAS is a two-tier system.
• Tier 1 comprises State Tele MANAS cells, which includes trained counsellors and mental health specialists.
• Tier 2 comprises specialists at District Mental Health Programme (DMHP)/Medical College resources for physical consultation and/or eSanjeevani for audio visual consultation
  The MoU inked between the J-K Health and Medical Education Department and the HomiBhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre will provide significant technical support to improve cancer care services in the UT and help us to establish preventive oncology service, day care centres and palliative care service at district hospitals
