  • The popular export benefit scheme, Remission of Duty and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP), that was notified for certain sectors till September 30 2023, is now being extended by nine months till June 30 2024
  • The RoDTEP scheme refunds embedded duties/taxes, such as VAT on fuel used in transportation, mandi tax and duty on electricity used during manufacturing, that are not rebated under other schemes.
  • Announced in January 2021, as a replacement for the WTO-incompatible MEIS scheme, the scheme covered 8,731 items from most export sectors with the exception of organic and inorganic chemicals, pharmaceuticals and iron & steel.
  • Later the government decided to extend the benefits also to the three excluded sectors, but just for a period of nine months till September 30 2023, which has now been further extended by nine months.
  • In another development, in line with the scheme framework, the RoDTEP Committee has again been constituted in the Department of Revenue to review and recommend the ceiling rates under the RoDTEP Scheme for different export sectors
  • Under RoDTEP, a support of ₹27,018 crores has been extended for the 27 month period till March 31 2023. The RoDTEP scheme operates under a budgetary framework and for FY 23-24, a budget of ₹15,070 crore is available to support 10,610 items (HS lines) at the 8 digit level.

  • The company has earned dual approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for both manufacturing and training, demonstrating its commitment to safety and compliance.
  • The start-up claims to be the first drone company to secure a loan under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF DRONE LOAN) and was the first to receive a subsidy in Maharashtra. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the shareholder and brand ambassador in Garuda Aerospace.
  • Founded in 2015, the company has over 400 drones and 500 pilots operating in 84 cities.   • The projects when completed and made operational will increase the FM coverage in the state to approximately 65% of the state’s area and will enable a reach of about 77% of its population.
