  • However, the committee has faced delays and its tenure has been extended multiple times since May 6.
  • The CDCL’s responsibilities include examining the need for a separate legislation for regulating digital markets and preparing a draft Digital Competition Act (DCA).
  • It will also assess whether existing provisions in the Competition Act are sufficient to address challenges arising from the digital economy.

  • ‘Exercise Poorvi Akash’ focused on demonstrating air power’s defensive and offensive capabilities in response to various perceived threats, conducted both during the day and night. It aimed to enhance the coordination between the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.
  • The exercise involved joint operations with the Eastern Command (EC) of the Indian Army in the challenging terrain of the Eastern Sector and activated the entire Eastern Sector. Special Forces from both the Indian Air Force (Garuds) and the Indian Army participated in special missions, along with the deployment of air defense assets to simulate realistic battle scenarios.
  • The exercise included a wide range of operations, maintenance, and administrative activities to assess operational readiness and provide realistic training.
  • The indigenous Light Combat Helicopter ‘Prachand’ also landed at a high elevation Advance Landing Ground on one of its first such deployment, conducting joint training with ground forces and other combat platforms and systems. Additionally, the indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft ‘Tejas’ and the heavy-lift Chinook Helicopters were deployed in various missions as part of the exercise
