- The firm has indigenously developed satellite deployment systems compatible with the PSLV launch vehicle. It was on June 30 that Dhruva Space’s 1U Satellite Orbital Deployer (DSOD-1U) was successfully space-qualified on board ISRO’s PSLV-C53.
- For PSLV-C55, the company’s 3U Satellite Orbital Deployer (DSOD-3U) saw successful deployment status shortly after launch. The 6U Satellite Orbital Deployer (DSOD-6U), designed for the storage and delayed deployment of ‘CubeSats’ into low earth orbit and higher orbits, rounded off a mission success with confirmation of long–duration/planned delayed deployment.
- Dhruva Space Orbital Link (DSOL) has been designed and was successfully tested and space-qualified to support satellite-based data relay applications. The configurable transceiver was made for telemetry, telecommand and control, and payload data download with high data rates with successful reception confirmed from ISTRAC – ISRO’s Telemetry Tracking & Command Network, Port Blair ground station.
- Last year, the 11-year-old start-up launched their two satellites Thybolt 1 and Thybolt 2, onboardIndian Space Research Organisation’s PSLV-C54.
- The start-up manufactures satellite infrastructure such as solar panels, satellite software, communication systems, and satellite deployers.
- Three satellite platforms have been developed by Dhruva Space.

- The Finance Ministry has allowed 22 financial companies, including Amazon Pay (India) and Hero FinCorp, to undertake Aadhaar-based authentication of clients.
- The ministry, through a notification, said these 22 companies, which are already reporting entities under the PMLA, will be able to verify the identity of clients and beneficial owners’ details using their Aadhaar numbers.
- These 22 financial companies include Godrej Finance, Amazon Pay (India) Pvt Ltd, Aditya Birla Housing Finance, Tata Motors Finance Solution, IIFL Finance and Mahindra Rural Housing Finance Ltd.
- The other modes of verification prescribed under the Money Laundering Act include offline verification under the Aadhaar Act, use of a passport and any other officially valid document or modes of identification as may be notified by the central government, and the client has a voluntary choice to opt for the mode of verification.

- The application or software named Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Non-Communicable Disease (CPHC NCD IT) rolled out under the programme for screening and management, will now be renamed ‘National NCD Portal’.
- NPCDCS is being implemented under the National Health Mission (NHM) across the country.
- Meanwhile, a study ‘India: Health of the Nation’s States – The India State-Level Disease Burden Initiative in 2017’ by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) estimated that the proportion of deaths due to NCDs in India have increased from 37.9% in 1990 to 61.8% in 2016.
- The four major NCDs are cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), cancers, chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) and diabetes which share four behavioural risk factors – unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, and use of tobacco and alcohol.

- The port will enable new trade and transit opportunities between India and Myanmar, particularly in the Rakhine State, and enhance commerce between the two nations and the wider region.
- Sittwe Port has been developed under a framework agreement between India and Myanmar for the construction and operation of a Multimodal Transit Transport Facility on Kaladanriver connecting the Sittwe port in Myanmar with the state of Mizoram in India.
- The port connects to Paletwa in Myanmar through an inland waterway and from Paletwa to Zorinpui in Mizoram through a road component.
- Once fully operationalised, KMTTP will provide alternate connectivity from the Eastern coast of India to the North-eastern states through the Sittwe port.

- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur launched the mascot, logo, jersey, and anthem of the Khelo India University Games 2022 (KIUG) at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar.
- Besides state capital Lucknow, the 3rd edition of the Khelo India University Games will be hosted by Noida, Gorakhpur and Varanasi, from May 23 to June 3.
- KIUG opening ceremony is scheduled for May 25 at the BabuBanarasi Das University in Lucknow.
- The Shooting competition will be organized in New Delhi at the Dr.Karni Singh Shooting Range.
- For the First time, water sports such as Rowing will be a part of the Khelo India University Games.
- More than 4700 athletes from 200 universities across the country will participate in 21 sports disciplines in this event.
- The Logo – The official logo of the Khelo India University Games 2022 Uttar Pradesh represents the rich heritage of Uttar Pradesh, India’s largest state.
- The Mascot – Jitu, the mascot represents the Barasingha, an incredible mammal
- The Torch – ‘Shakti’, the official torch of the Khelo India University Games, Uttar Pradesh
- Anthem – “Khelo India – HarDil Mein Desh”, composed and sung by renowned singer Palash Sen.
