• At Rs 3,08,732 in 2022-23,Telangana leads the list of Indian states with the highest per capita income at current prices, data released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) showed.
• It is followed by Karnataka with a per capita income of Rs 3,01,673 and Haryana at Rs 296,685.
• Last year with a per capita income of Rs 2,65,942 Telangana led the list among all the big states. But it was closely followed by Karnataka which was at Rs 2,65,623.
• Based on constant prices, Haryana topped the list with a per capita income of Rs 1,81,961 in 2022-23. It was followed by Karnataka at Rs 1,76,383 and Tamil Nadu at Rs 1,66,463.
• Among all the sectors, financial, real estate & professional services continued to contribute the highest to the gross value added (GVA). In 2022-23, it contributed 21.42 per cent to the total GVA. In 2021-22, its contribution was 21.51 per cent.
• It was followed by the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector which had a share of 18.42 per cent. Agriculture’s share has been going down since 2020-21 when its share was 20.32 per cent. In 2021-22, the agriculture sector’s share in total GVA was 18.97 per cent.
• The third highest share was of the trade, hotels, transport, communication & services related to the broadcasting sector at 17.98 per cent. It has recovered from 15.78 per cent in 2020-21 when it was hit due to Covid-19 restrictions.

• RBI has announced to set-up a centralised web portal for public to search unclaimed deposits across multiple banks
• RBI has launched the campaign “100 Days 100 Pays” for banks to trace and settle top 100 unclaimed deposits of every bank in every district of the country within 100 days, commencing from 1 September 2023 to 8 September 2023

• As on July 23, 20 banks in India have been permitted to open SRVAs of partner banks from 22 countries, including Bangladesh, Belarus, Botswana, Fiji, Germany, Guyana and Israel.

• The memorial is also dedicated to soldier Yeshwant Ghadge, who was killed during the war in Upper Tiber Valley. He was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest award for British armed forces
• More than 50,000 Indian Army soldiers participated in the Italian Campaign during the Second World War and six Indian soldiers were awarded with the Victoria Cross.
• Thousands of Indian soldiers were killed and are commemorated in the 40 Commonwealth War Graves spread all over Italy.
• An Indian Army plaque has also been placed at the memorial commemorating the sacrifices of all ranks of the Indian Army who fought in the Italian Campaign.
• The memorial has been created in the form of a live sundial with the motto ‘Omines Sub Eodem Sole’ (We all live under the same sun).

• The exclusive ITC Mission Millets postal stamp acknowledges the significant role of farmers and connects sustainable farming to nutritious food products and delicious millet-based recipes and dishes.
• The representation is a unique sketch illustration that depicts the collective and synergistic effort by ITC’s Agri Business Division, Foods Business Division and ITC Hotels to not only develop sustainable millet farming but also help consumers acquire a taste for healthy millets.
• ITC has developed a range of millet-based products in traditional and modern formats for all meal occasions including ready to eat food products, cookies, noodles, vermicelli, chocosticks, snacks and staples such as Multi Millet Mix and Ragi Flour.
• ITC Hotels has also crafted and included special millet based cuisines in their buffets.
• The stamp captures the journey of millets from the farms to the company’s food production factories.

• Under the new partnership, Walmart will extend its support to help MSMEs digitise their businesses and fuel capacity building for Telangana. This will enable them to be a part of the offline and online domestic supply chains
• In partnership with Swasti, Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development Programme (Walmart Vriddhi) offers small businesses and entrepreneurs a complete learning platform and provides free training, in-depth expert assistance and tailored tools and skills required to grow and expand their business
• The Walmart Vriddhi programme provides a digitally enhanced learning experience through online modules with personalised feedback and one-on-one advisory sessions.
  Over 32,000 MSMEs have already completed the training.
