- Consequently, the bank (Nagina, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh) will cease to carry on banking business with effect from the close of business on July 19, 2023.
- The bank does not have adequate capital and earning prospects and has failed to comply with the requirements of relevant Sections of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
- Every depositor would be entitled to receive deposit insurance claim amount of his/her deposits up to a ceiling of ₹5 lakh from the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC).
- Giving reasons for cancellation of the licence, it said United India Co-operative Bank, based out of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
- With the licence cancelled, the bank has been prohibited from conducting regular business, which includes acceptance and repayment of deposits.
- The Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperative, Uttar Pradesh, has also been requested to issue an order for winding up the bank and appoint a liquidator for the bank.

- An artist aged 60 years and above who have contributed in the field of art and culture in their active age and whose annual income is not more than Rs. 48,000/- can apply under the scheme either through Art & Culture Department of concerned State Government/UT or Zonal Cultural Center.
- Release of financial assistance on monthly basis to the eligible beneficiaries is one of the main objectives of the MoU entered with Canara Bank.
- Under this scheme an amount of Rs. 26.00 crore has been allocated in B.E. for the year 2023-24.
- To ensure transparency and efficient utilization of funds, the scheme guidelines provides for direct transfer of amount to the account of selected beneficiaries.

- Karnataka launched the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme Gruha Lakshmi for women whereby every woman head of the family in the state, irrespective of caste, creed or religion, will receive Rs 2000 every month in her bank account
- The scheme is expected to benefit 1.28 crore women, each of whom will receive ₹24,000 annually.
- Government had allocated ₹24,166 crore for the scheme in it’s recent budget announcement.
- The scheme will come into effect from August 16 onwards
- It will cost the government ₹35,000 crore every year.
- Women from both Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Above Poverty Line (APL) households are eligible for the scheme as long as they – or the husbands – do not fall under the tax-paying bracket.
- The registration for the scheme is free of cost.

- Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fishries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is implementing the Credit Guarantee Scheme under Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) to strengthen credit delivery system and facilitate smooth flow of credit to the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) engaged in Livestock sector without hassles of collateral security.
- For operationalizing the scheme, DAHD has established a Credit Guarantee fund Trust of Rs. 750.00 crores, which will provide credit guarantee coverage up to 25% of the credit facilities extended to the MSMEs by the eligible lending institutions.
- The credit guarantee scheme facilitates access to finance for un-served and under-served livestock sector, making availability of financial assistance from lenders to mainly first-generation entrepreneurs and under privileged section of society, who lack collateral security for supporting their ventures.
- The main objective of the Credit Guarantee Scheme is that the lender should give importance to project viability and secure the credit facility purely on the basis primary security of the assets financed.
- The establishment of credit guarantee fund trust was approved under the Prime Minister’s AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan stimulus package of Rs.15000 crores“ Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund” (AHIDF) for incentivizing investments by individual entrepreneurs, private companies, MSMEs, Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs) and Section 8 companies to establish (i) the dairy processing and value addition infrastructure, (ii) meat processing and value addition infrastructure, (iii) Animal Feed Plant, (iv) Breed Improvement technology and Breed Multiplication Farm (v) Animal Waste to Wealth Management (Agri Waste Management) and (vi) Setting up of Veterinary Vaccine and Drugs Manufacturing facilities.
- One of the key features of the AHIDF scheme is the establishment of a Credit Guarantee Fund Trust of Rs. 750.00 Crores.
- DAHD has formed a trust with NABSanrakshan Trustee Company Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD for the establishment of a Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for extending the credit guarantee to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises under AHIDF scheme.
- This fund trust established in March 2021 is the Nation’s first ever fund trust under Credit guarantee scheme of AHIDF in the agriculture and Animal Husbandry sector and is a path-breaking initiative taken by DAHD which would exponentially increase the number of MSME units getting benefits of AHIDF scheme and strengthen the ecosystem for the collateral-free credit from the banks.
- The credit guarantee portal has been developed as a rule based B2B portal and implemented the enrollment of eligible lending institutions under Credit Guarantee Scheme, issuance/renewal of Credit Guarantee Cover and Settlement of Claims.

- loan up to 90% of the total project cost from any Scheduled Bank, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).

- Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates first-ever Global Food Regulators Summit 2023 in presence of Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Shri Narendra Tomar and Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Govt. of Nepal, Dr. Bedu Ram Bhusal in New Delhi.
- This summit is an endeavour of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to create a global platform of food regulators to exchange perspectives on strengthening food safety systems and regulatory framework across the food value chain.
- The Union Health Minister also launched the common regulators platform ‘SaNGRAH’ – Safe food for Nations: Global food Regulatory Authorities Handbook. It is a database of Food Regulatory Authorities of 76 countries across the world, their mandate, food safety ecosystem, food testing facilities, contact details for food authorities, SPS/ TBT/Codex/ WAHO etc.
- Apart from Hindi and English, SaNGRAH is also available in six regional languages – Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
- A Common Digital Dashboard was also launched during the Summit by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. The Dashboard is a common unified IT-portal that provides comprehensive information on standards, regulations, notifications, advisories, guidelines, contamination limits and the latest developments by Food Regulators in India.
- Dr Mandaviya also inaugurated a two-day exhibition during the Global Food Regulator Summit 2023. This exhibition will provide an avenue for the exchange of ideas and information on food safety, food standards, food testing capabilities, product reformulation and advancement in food technologies.
- A total of 35 exhibitors including Food Business Operators (FBOs), Rapid Analytical Food Testing (RAFT) manufacturers and esteemed organizations like the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Export Inspection Council (EIC), Spice Board, Tea Board and Coffee Board will showcase their expertise and contributions to the field during the two days. The exhibition also showcases stalls on Shree Anna (millets).

- The Gujarat government signed an MoU in Gandhinagar withLondon-based Company, OneWeb and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for setting up a country’s first ‘Satellite Network Portal Site.’
- The MoU was signed by Vijay Nehra, Secretary, the State Department of Science and Technology, and Rahul Vatts, Director of OneWeb India Communication Pvt. Ltd.
- OneWeb is setting up two ‘Satellite Network Portal Sites’ and one of them will be in Mehsana district of Gujarat.
- The satellite network portal site is to be launched in Jotana, Mehsana district.
- It will provide high-speed, low-latency, and affordable connectivity to the government, businesses, consumers, schools, among others. It will provide continuous and secure satellite internet access at affordable rates in the country.
- This is a prestigious and of its kind project for providing internet in an affordable manner to villages, district panchayats, local administrative bodies, government departments, among other, across India under the Digital India initiative.
- Under this, two Satellite Network Portals (SMPs) are being set up in India, one in Gujarat and the other in Tamil Nadu through OneWeb.
- This satellite network portal, to be set up at Katosan and Tejpura in Jotana, will be commissioned in 2023 with a possible investment of over Rs. 100 crores in Phase-I.
It will create approximately 500 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state. - This project under Digital India, aims to provide affordable, secure and high speed internet access to villages, district panchayats, local administrative bodies, government departments, and other entities throughout the country.
- This technology, which is considered safe, is currently working in Europe and Canada.
