  • India and the UAE recently signed eight pacts, including a bilateral investment treaty and a framework deal to foster regional connectivity.

  • The primary objective of this RPTO is to promote the advancement of drone technology.
  • Initially, the RPTO will introduce a DGCA-Certified Medium Class Drone Pilot Training Course, tailored to enhance the skills of youth in North east and other regions of India.
  • It will also cater specifically to women from self-help group engaged in agriculture, identified under the Namo Drone Didi Yojna.
  • Upon completion of the course, students will be awarded a Re mote Pilot Certificate (RPC) sanctioned by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

  • The 40 megawatts (MW) / 120MWh BESS with a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant which has an installed capacity of 152.325 megawatt hour (MWh)and dispatchable capacity of 100MW AC (155.02 MW peak DC) is located in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.
  • The project has deployed bifacial modules, which reflect the light from the ground, thus generating more electricitythan monofacial modules, hencesetting a new standard for large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • A unique aspect of this project is its strategic use of previously unused land.
  • Through a tripartite land-use permission agreement among the Energy Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), and SECI, 451 acres of waste land across 9 villages in Tehsil Dongargarh and Dongargaon, District Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, have been repurposed.
  • The project has been constructed with funding from the World Bank and Clean Technology Fundunder Innovation in Solar Power & Hybrid Technologies Projectas well as leveraged financing from domestic lending agencies.

  • This initiative aims to seamlessly integrate PACS godowns with the food grain supply chain, fortifying food security and fostering economic development in the country with a collaborative effort supported by NABARD and spearheaded by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).
  • The Prime Minister also inaugurated a project for computerization in 18,000 PACS across the country which has a target of completion by August 2024 at a cost of Rs 2400 Crore, aligning with the government’s vision of “Sahakar se Samridhi” aimed at rejuvenating the cooperative sector and empowering small and marginal farmers.


  • The world’s largest storage plan of 700 lakh metric tons initiated by the government and to be completed in the next 5 years at a cost of Rs 1.25 lakh crores.

Transparent Empanelment Media Planning and eBilling System: Revolutionizing Media Planning:

  • The Ministry is introducing the Transparent Empanelment, Media Planning and eBilling System for Central Bureau of Communication.
  • CBC provides comprehensive 360 degree media and communication solutions to Ministries, Departments, PSUs, and autonomous bodies.
  • The new system of CBC is designed to enhance transparency and efficiency in media planning processes, and provide an end-to-end ERP solution for the media industry for doing business in a paperless and faceless environment.

NaViGate Bharat Portal: National Video Gateway of Bharat:

  • The ‘NaViGate Bharat’ portal i.e., the National Video Gateway of Bharat, developed by the New Media Wing of the Ministry, is a unified bilingual platform which hosts videos on the entire gamut of Government’s development-related and citizen welfare-oriented measures.
  • ‘NaViGate Bharat’ empowers citizens by providing a single platform with an interactive user interface to search, stream, share, and download videos related to various Government schemes, initiatives, and campaigns, with filter-based advanced search option.

National Register for LCOs: Strengthening Cable Sector:

  • National Register for Local Cable Operators (LCOs) is the first step to bring registration of LCOs currently with Post Offices spread across the country under a Centralised Registration System.
  • A web form has been designed to collect information from local cable operators for the purpose of National Register.
  • The National Register for LCOs has also been published online and is being updated regularly. This promises a more organized cable sector with a National Registration Number for an LCO, making it easier to formulate new policies for responsible service and convenience for cable operators.

The Press and Registration of Periodicals Act, 2023:

  • The Press and Registration of Periodicals Act, 2023 (PRP Act, 2023) revolutionizes the registration process for periodicals, introducing a seamless online system for title allotment and registration without the need for physical submissions.
  • This efficient approach, particularly advantageous for small and medium publishers, eliminates the requirement to file multiple declarations with District Magistrates. Instead, publishers will now submit a single online application through the Press Sewa Portal, streamlining the entire process that previously involved eight steps.
  • The Act will replace the existing Press and Registration of Books Act 1867.
  • Under the act Registrar of Newspapers for India office will be replaced by the office of Press Registrar General of India.

  • Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) is a unit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, that has the mandate of providing 360 degrees communication solutions to Ministries, Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and autonomous bodies.
