Antyodaya Diwas 2023
- Antyodaya Diwas is celebrated annually in India on September 25 to mark the birth anniversary of Indian leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
- It is a day of remembrance and celebration of his life and legacy and he was one of the most prominent figures in India’s political history.
- He was a co-founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) and a thinker of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

- Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari received the first of the 56 C295 transport aircraft two years after India sealed a ₹21,935-crore deal with Airbus Defence and Space to procure the jets to replace its ageing Avro–748 fleets.
- Under the deal, Airbus will deliver the first 16 aircraft in ‘fly-away’ condition from its final assembly line in Seville by 2025 and the subsequent 40 aircraft will be manufactured and assembled by Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) in India as part of an industrial partnership between the two companies.
- The production of components of these aircraft has already started in the Main Constituent Assembly (MCA) facility in Hyderabad.

- The declaration is in accordance with the provisions of clause (ii) of sub-section (iv) of section 38V of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of 1972). The combined protected area, formed by notifying Nauradehi and Durgavati Wildlife Sanctuaries, comprises two core areas.
- Core Area-1 spans an expansive 1390.036 square kilometers, while Core Area-2 encompasses 23.97 square kilometers.
- The newly established Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve covers an extensive area of 2,339 square kilometers and is located approximately 20 kilometers from Bhopal. It spans three districts—Narsinghpur, Sagar, and Damoh.
- Madhya Pradesh is renowned for its six existing tiger reserves: Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Panna, Pench, Sanjay Dubri, and Satpura.
- The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) recently granted preliminary approval for the creation of this new tiger reserve during a meeting of its technical committee.
- The establishment of this reserve is a crucial requirement for the Ken-Betwa River linking project, adding another layer of significance to its preservation

- Further, proposals of the IAF for which DAC has accorded AoN include avionic upgradation of Dornier aircraft to improve accuracy and reliability for operations. The procurement of Dhruvastra Short Range Air-to-Surface Missile as a potent indigenous precision guided weapon for the indigenously built Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-IV Helicopters has been cleared by the DAC
- India has contracted 272 Su-30s from Russia in batches, majority of which were assembled in India by HAL and around 11 jets were lost over the years.
- The IAF has 12 Su-30 Squadrons in service, and anywhere between 40-50 aircraft are at HAL for overhaul and repairs at any given time
- Earlier, in July 2020, the DAC approved a proposal for procurement of 21 MIG-29 along with upgradation of existing 59 MIG-29 aircraft and procurement of 12 Su-30 MKI aircraft.

- Lieutenant governor VK Saxena launched a unique Vigilance Complaint Information Management System (VCIMS) portal at Raj Niwas.
- The first-of-its-kind online system would help in speedy action with transparency and secrecy in dealing with and monitoring corruption complaints.
- VCIMS would serve as a single-window portal to enable the common man to file vigilance complaints against an employee of Delhi government and its departments and related agencies, municipal corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council, DDA and Delhi Police, and will also deter vexatious complaints by blackmailers.
- With the launch of this portal, complaints against corruption will not be accepted in the physical form.
- The move comes following the LG’s intervention in a meeting held in May to review handling and disposal of corruption complaints
- The system will ensure that anonymous or pseudonymous complaints are reduced to zero as the identity of the complainant shall be captured in the system at the very first stage.
- It will also ensure faster decision-making, which is much needed in real-time situations, especially while handling trap complaints
