    facing financial stress on account of COVID treatment-related expenses, State Bank of India(SBI) has launched a collateral-free unique loan offering – ‘Kavach Personal Loan’.
  • The loan covers expenses of COVID treatment of self and family members of the customer.
  • This product was launched by Dinesh Khara, Chairman, SBI.
  • Under this scheme, customers can avail loans up to Rs 5 lacs at an effective interest rate of 8.5% per annum for 60 months which is inclusive of three months moratorium.
  • This unique product is being offered under the collateral-free personal loan category and comes at the cheapest rate of interest under this segment.
  • Reimbursement of expenses already incurred for COVID related medical expenses shall also be provided under the scheme.

RBI allows banks to charge Rs 21 for post limit ATM transactions from January 1:

  • The Reserve Bank permitted banks to increase charges for cash and non-cash ATM transactions beyond free monthly permissible limit from next year.
  • Bank customers will have to pay Rs 21 per transaction, instead of Rs 20, with effect from January 1, 2022, if they exceed the monthly limit of free transactions.
  • However, customers will continue to be eligible for five free transactions (inclusive of financial and non-financial transactions) every month from their own bank ATMs.
  • They would also be able to do three free transactions from other bank ATMs in metro centres and five in non-metro centres.

  • Employees are procuring ration kits comprising 10 kg rice/flour, 2 kg dal (lentils), 1 kg sugar and salt, 1 kg cooking oil, 5 packets of assorted spices, tea and biscuits and other essentials needed to support a small family for about a month.
  • These ration kits are directly delivered in-person at customers’ homes with a personal touch from the Bank.
  • Under the pilot program, employees have already distributed 1000 ration kits in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Haryana successfully.
