• The Reserve Bank on Thursday imposed a penalty of Rs 2 crore on Standard Chartered Bank-India for delays in reporting of frauds to it.
• The monetary penalty has been imposed on the bank for non-compliance with certain directions contained in the ‘Reserve Bank of India (Frauds – Classification and Reporting by commercial banks and select FIs) Directions 2016’.

SEBI slaps Rs 1 cr fine on HDFC Bank in BRH Wealth Kreators case:

• SEBI imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on HDFC Bank for invoking securities pledged by stock broker BRH Wealth Kreators in viola.
• In addition, the bank has been directed to transfer Rs 158.68 crore along with 7 per cent interest per annum into an escrow account till the issue of settlement of clients’ securities is reconciled.

• The indigenous stand-off weapon has been developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Research Centre Imarat (RCI). It is the first smart weapon fired from an Indian Hawk-Mk132.
• The SAAW is an aircraft launched, advanced, precision strike weapon of 125kg category used to attack and destroy enemy airfield assets such as radars, bunkers, taxi tracks, runways within a range of 100 kms.
• SAAW has been earlier successfully test fired from Jaguar aircraft.
